Yordan Radichkov Foreign language high school, in Vidin, Bulgaria, is a general education municipal high school from 8th to 12th grade. Students are 498 at the age of 14 to 19.They enter the school after taking exams in Bulgarian and Maths. the staff are 35 and 14 of them are foreign language teachers. Students from the whole Vidin region study in our school and some of them live in the boarding boude next to the school. Because of the economics of the region and the closing of the factories many people were unemployed and left the region and the country to find work. As a result many children live in parted families or their grandparents or relatives take care of them.
All students study intensively English during the 8th grade and continue studying it till 12th grade. From 9th to 12th grade the students choose to study German or French.
Biology and Chemistry are taught bilingual in English and Bulgarian.After finishing school all students continue their education in universities in Bulgaria or abroad.
The school is rated high in our region. The students are highly motivated to study and achieve progress. The school is ranked in the 50 best schools in Bulgaria according the results of the compulsory Matriculation exam in Bulgarian last year.
