Romania GRUPUL SCOLAR MIHAILESTI
Grupul Şcolar Mihăileşti, as its name shows, is situated in a little town called Mihăileşti, in the north part of Giurgiu County, not far away from Bucharest, the capital city of Romania;
Most of our students come from Mihăileşti, and villages situated in the north part of Giurgiu as well; There are almost 1000 pupils between 3 to 18 years old who attend our school. The pupils involved as direct beneficiaries in the project are aged 7-16, mentioning that the target group (taken into account for mobilities) will be pupils over 12. We thought the project in such a way that the target group will work as tutor for other groups of students that are going to solve a certain task in the project. They will have to organize activities, involve other students in solving different tasks, take responsibilities, decisions, make observations and report the results. We intend to involve our high school students in translating the resulted materials. So that many pupils can be involved in the project as direct beneficiary of the proposed tasks.
Our school is a leading school among schools in the area. It serves as a motivator and challenger for other schools, when there are regional competitions, sports events, charities or other important activities. There are facilities for our students such as: labs, connection to the internet, a modern gym, a documentation and information centre, skilled teaching staff.
Bulgaria BELENE OU Vasil Levski
Vasil Levski Secondary School is a municipal school attended by 160 students (aged 7 to 14). It is located in the town of Belene, in Pleven District.
The municipality is situated in the north of the Danube Plain. Due to its location and the level of development it is defined as not developed isolated rural area. Its significant feature is the co-existence of people from various ethnic groups with different religions: Bulgarians, Romanians, Orthodoxes, Catholics and Moslems.
The school takes 3 750 m2 built-up ground. It has many facilities such as: a chemistry lab, a music room, an art studio, two computer rooms with a permanent Internet connection, a gym, a new combined playground, a library. There is an acting hall with 200 places in the school lobby where festivities and school events take place. Skilled staff of 20 teachers works at the school.
Turkiye BUYUKCIGLI ANADOLU LISESI
Büyükçiğli High School which takes its name from the district Çiğli was founded and started education and training in 1967 with 16 classrooms as the only school of its district. Residential area of the school is 7327 square meters. Our school is 20 km away from the city center. In 1971, the school was converted to high school and since then the education and training goes on without interruption. During this time, many talented and successful students have grown. Some of these are: Yusuf TEPEKULE who is a national football player and Semra AKSU who is a national athlete.
At the classes of 9-10-11-12, there are 552 students (mixed gender) ranging from ages 15-18. Our students can benefit from the physics laboratory, computer room with internet connection and a library which has around 3000 books. Our school serves to our students with guidance counselors and teachers besides 29 teachers with 15-20 years of experience and 4 auxiliary staff.
