Hello TCG fans!!!
Today I’m about to talk about the new Hearthstone expansion for this year. As we know the Year of the Mammoth is already over, 11.03 was the date for the end of the year, and now we should welcome the new one- Year of the Raven!
The first expansion of the Raven year is called „The Witchwood“ which sounds amazing because we are going to have a lot of new cards, about 135 I think, some new mechanics-keywords, a new game mode called „Monster Hunt“, like the Dungeon Run and a new Shaman Hero Card „Hagatha“ seen briefly at the end of the video, which was confirmed by Ben Broden to be the only one.
The two keywords called „Echo“ and „Rush“ are presented in this expansion. The meaning of these mechanics are these:
Echo– a card that could be cast multiple times in a single turn. Something similar to the shaman’s card „Unstable Evolution“.
Rush-a minion that can attack other minions the same turn they are placed. It is close to the Charge but we can’t go face, sry hunters 🙂 .
About the new game mode we can say few things for now. We don’t have gameplay for it, but we know that it is like the recently added Dungeon Run mode but with four new heroes, yes we won’t play with the normal ones. The same boss fighting style with deck building progression but with the new 4 unique characters- Cannoneer, Houndmaster, Time Tinkerer, and Tracker. Only this info is given for the characters, so we can wait to see the passives and maybe new cards for these classes.
A very important thing I forgot to mention is the Free Stuff that we will get from logging when the new expansion releases. They will give three card packs, four card packs from quest completion when the expansion arrives, a Monster Hunter card back and a random Class LEGENDARY! It sounds amazing, doesn’t it?
Finally I can say that the new expansion will contain some good new mechanics, which can make the play-style of the game cooler and make it more pleasant for the new players. Also, the theme of the expansion is very interesting, so we can expect a very cool art style for the cards, the card backs and the new game mode. For now this was all the basic information I’ve wanted to mention and I hope that we will see more things sooner. Stay tuned and don’t miss my next review about the cards that are already released!
