35th FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships 2017 PESARO (ITA)

The 2017 World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, the 35rd edition, was be held in Pesaro, Italy, from 30 August to 3 September 2017. It took place in the Adreatic Arena.

Bulgaria was represented by Neviana Vladinova, 23 years old, and Katrin Taseva, 20 years old, in the individual competion, and by the Bulgarian national team.

In the individual qualification Dina Averina and Arina Averina, the Russian twins, took gold and silver all around.The bronze took : Kaho Minagawa, from Japan, for her hoop performance, Neviana Vladinova, from Bulgaria, for her ball performance and Lynoy Ashram, from Israel, for the clubs and ribbon.

And in the all around group qualification the Russian team took the gold, Bulgarians – second place, and Japan took home the bronze medal.

Even though the Bulgarian contestants didn’t get the gold, doesn’t mean one should jump to conclusions.The dominant medalist’s nations include Soviet Union (as

well as its subsequent independent states, namely Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Azerbaijan) and Bulgaria.

Actually, Sofia, Bulgaria, will be the next host for the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in 2018. It will be held in Arena Armeez in the beginning of September.
